Will You Buy A Droid?

Verizon is now selling the Motorola Droid phone. It’s Motorola’s answer to Apple’s iPhone. The Droid runs on Google’s android operating system which New York Times’ reviewer David Pogue says “…the Droid just incredibly fast, so it’s a delight to use. Audio quality (that) is superb, both on phone calls and music.”

Of all places, in the UK the people who listen to radio via mobile and digital devices is on the rise. According to RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research, which measures UK radio audiences) those who listen on mobile on platforms rose 7.5% for last year. Digital grew 14%. Is Radio Dead?

No radio stations are not dead but they need to see the doctor. According to a new study from TargetCast radio is still a strong force but losing its energy. TargetCast says that 50% of people between the ages of 18 and 24 prefer their MP3s to the radio and about 45% like internet stations to radio, and 49% say radio is not relevant to them. What does making coffee in your kitchen and music have in common? Nothing that I know of but a guy in Springfield Virginia is charged with indecent exposure making coffee in his house in the nude. Michael

Michael Jackson, known as the King of Pop, succumbed to a heart condition he apparently kept secret. He was an entertainer extraordinary for his generation. His music was unquestionably some of the most creative ever produced. Though he had problems and demons to deal with, he was still able to give his best when performing. 50 years old is very young but not immune to physical failures. His legacy is his music which will resonate through the ages. R.I.P. Michael.
